Our mission

Resilience is the capacity of a stystem, be it an individual, a forest, a city or an economy, to deal with change and continue to develop. It is about how humans and nature can use shocks and disturbances like a financial crisis or climate change to spur renewal and innovative thinking. Resilience starts from the belief that humans and nature are strongly coupled to the point that they should be conceived as one social-ecological system.

R3C studies environmental and socio-economic vulnerabilities of territorial systems offering resilient models and solutions.
R3C promotes strategies of adaptation to face natural and human-related risks, guaranteeing the safety of territorial and cultural heritage.
R3C experiments an interdisciplinary research methodology to design resilient territorial and building systems. R3C supports institutions and local communities in the challenging of resilience during ongoing global transition.
R3C is the italian reference on territorial resilience.
