This essay presents the methodology of work and achievements in a research project that has aimed... at the study of the architecture of Italian parish groups, made in the years between the Second Vatican Council and the new Millennium. The study has highlighted the role of the various agents responsible for the process of ideation, design and implementation of a complex building, as is the seat of a parish. The investigations in the territory and the analysis of the archives as a primary source, have allowed the elaboration of a systematized interpretation plot, useful for the historical exploration of the case, as well for the critical formation of the community, clients and of the designers. /// Il saggio presenta il metodo di lavoro e alcuni esiti di un progetto di ricerca finalizzato allo studio delle architetture dei complessi parrocchiali italiani realizzati tra gli anni del Concilio Vaticano II e il nuovo Millennio. Lo studio ha evidenziato il ruolo delle diverse responsabilità assunte nel processo ideativo, progettuale e realizzativo di un edificio complesso, quale la sede di una parrocchia. Le ricognizioni sul territorio e l’analisi delle fonti di archivio hanno consentito la messa a punto di una griglia di interpretazione sistematizzata, utile sia per l’indagine storica sul fenomeno, sia per la formazione critica delle comunità, dei committenti e dei progettisti.
