Environmental pollution is one of the main environmental problems. The objective was to evaluate ...the management of wastewater in the enterprise sector of Cienfuegos and to propose solutions to mitigate the contamination. The eight-step procedure was applied for the solution of a problem, complemented with methodologies and tools for technical studies. The management of wastewater is a potentially significant environmental issue, in terms of environmental pollution of water and soil. A package of technical, organizational and engineering solutions was proposed, taking into account Cleaner Production options, to minimize the generation of pollution at source and reduce water consumption. The measures will contribute to improve the environmental performance of the organizations.
