Medieval structures in historical analyses preceding the urban planning of some Piedmontese citie...s The link between the operational commitment seen in historic planning analyses and academic considerations on the different ways of making the history of the city was one of the most hotly debated urban-development topics in Italy in the 1960s and 1970s. This paper examines the method and lexicon adopted by Vera Comoli to analyse the cities that were the focus of her first studies. In them, the interpretation of a significant and complex medieval stratification triggered significant choices for the formation of her method of investigation / La relazione tra l’impegno operativo nelle analisi storiche per la pianificazione e la riflessione accademica sui diversi modi di fare storia della città costituisce uno dei temi urbanistici più dibattuti nell’Italia degli anni sessanta e settanta. Nel contributo si analizzano il metodo e il lessico adottati da Vera Comoli nell’analisi delle città oggetto dei suoi primi studi, in cui l’interpretazione di una stratificazione medievale di notevole rilievo e complessità porta a compiere alcune scelte decisive nella formazione del suo metodo di indagine.
